day eighteen: team mom

Not teen mom (like the ridiculously awful MTV show)...

Team mom (think: orange slices and Capri Suns).

That's what we got to be today.

We had originally planned on putting money in vending machines in the hospital. But Kevin, my cousin/kind-of-brother/our son's uncle/semi-child, had a high school baseball game.

This is his first year playing varsity, and it was the conference opener against their rival, and since we treat him like our own kid (which, if he were, would mean that Suzy was definitely a "teen mom"), we wanted to go to the game and take him some goodies.

What every high school baseball player wants: Powerade and sunflower seeds

We didn't even get to talk to Kevin at the game. In fact, we only got to watch the first few innings before we had to leave for a church event. But we are so proud of him. We'd be his team mom(s) anytime.
